Next time you decide to fly outside
the US and you’re planning your vacation; making
flight arrangements, hotel reservations and
renting a car, make sure to contact your
cell phone
carrier. If you are planning to use your
cellphone abroad its always a good idea to visit
your carrier’s ( Cingular, T-Mobile) online site
and to call them to confirm that your
international roaming feature is turned on and
to enable international roaming before you fly!
International roaming
tip: With
T-Mobile you need to remember to ‘turn-on’ the
‘WorldClass’ service before your departure. All
you have to do is go to the T-Mobile site, log
in and add this to your plan. The best part is
it’s free so why not! I also liked (and
recommend that you use it too!)
T-Mobile’s online
tool for finding out rates & GPRS
coverage for the country you are traveling to
and there is also a very detailed coverage map
with a lot more useful information like
frequencies and carriers. Cingular also offers
it’s customers terrific International roaming
features.
When you plan your trip
overseas, give yourself enough time, before
take-off to go online and get the necessary
information!
